[Result] MGC -Marathon Grand Championships tokyo 10.15.2023

Suguru Osako competed in the MGC and placed 3rd in 2:09:11.

MGC was the race to decide Japan’s representatives for the marathon at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but only the top two finishers could qualify.

The third and final runner to qualify for the Paris Olympics will be the top runner who wins the Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo marathons in 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 50 seconds or faster. (2 hours 5 minutes 50 seconds is the highest Japanese record from April 2022 to March 2023.)
If no runner exceeds this requirement, Suguru Osako will represent Japan in the marathon at the Paris Olympics!

1. The first- and second-place finishers in the MGC will be selected to represent Japan in the Paris Olympics. 2.

2. The “MGC Final Challenge” will be held after the MGC race, and the highest ranked athlete who breaks the set record will be selected.

 - Osaka Marathon 2024 (February 25, 2024)
 - Tokyo Marathon 2024 (March 3, 2024)
